Flowing water & the sink is in

One thing that is really frustrating is when you buy something, go to wire it up and only then discover (on the wide wiring diagram, which yes I did read) that you need a fuse, but they don't supply you with the fuse or a fuse holder.

So back to Jaycar to buy fuse holder and fuse so I can wire in my water pump.

P.S. I had the same issue with the solar controller.

Having Bunnings, Jaycar, Kathmandu and Repco shops all located next to each other and only a 10 min drive from my 'home base'... is that a good thing or just plain dangerous? !!

The find of the day at Bunnings was a little plastic tub for less than $2 which I will use as a sink.

I also bought my water tanks from Bunnings, but my little water pump I actually brought over from NZ with me.

Although the sink was super cheap, the other fittings were a bit more expensive.

Cutting hole in the plastic tub for sink fittings was a lot easier than cutting a hole in vehicle for the waste water piping.

Next, install the sink, fill the water tanks and see if it all works as planned....

WATER STORAGE

Plan: 100 litres of fresh drinking water.

Location: centre of vehicle mass & low down (not on roof)... so in the passenger section, foot-well.

Configuration: 2 x 30 litre tanks, 2 20 litre tanks

Notes: reduce risk of water loss by having water in separate containers, that way if there is a leak you don't loose all your water. With this in mind I decided to connect the 2 x 30 litre tanks and leave the 2x 20 litre tanks as stand alone tanks.

I admit to being a little anxious about drilling hole in the base of tanks to connect them... but thankfully it worked.

But all in all it went well... and I now have running water in the Landy.

Creating a waste water holding tank will be a job for tomorrow.
