How do I pay for my travels???

It would be nice to have bags of money to just travel without working, but that is not my situation, so from time to time I take on short contracts to bring in the money that pays for my journey.

When I first began my exploration of Aussie I imagined I would be taking farm-work and other jobs like that, but instead of that I discovered that there are always jobs in Local Government available and if you are prepared to work in remote locations, your accommodation is typically included at either no cost, or greatly subsidised cost.

Yes, I work in an office, at a desk!!! Crazy eh!

I have just in fact spent the past 3 months (January - April 2024) working in a little Aboriginal Shire Council that had been devasted by Tropical Cyclone Jasper up in Far North Queensland, and this little video tells the story about my 'working holiday' and this most recent role.

This most recent job is also the reason I have not published any posts or videos in the past 3 months.... I was working 10-12hours a day 7 days a week for most of the past 3 months and simply did not have any energy left at the end of my 'working day' to edit and upload videos.

While I was working in the Cyclone Recovery Centre in Wujal Wujal I was one of the main contributors to the local Social Media page Wujal Wujal TC Jasper Recovery which you are welcome to view if you are interested.

Just for a laugh I have also included here one of the 'infographics' I created to share the recovery progress status with the 'Community'.

Anyway, I will be back out exploring soon, and I look forward to sharing the journey with you.

My next posts will be more from my journey across the Savannah Way which I did late last year (2023). Click here if you have not read my first part of that journey yet.
