Running down Mount Mitchell in a tropical rainstorm.

So, I said I would not walk up another mountain, 3 days - 3 mountains... but it was there and well....

Driving up Cunningham's Gap which is is a pass over the Great Dividing Range. The Gap is the major route over the Main Range along the Great Dividing Range, between Warwick and Brisbane.

At the top of the pass are the trail heads for several trails, one of them being Mt Mitchell.

The photos below show how worthwhile it is... the views are truly panoramic, The walk is moderate for the most part as it winds around and around as it climbs towards the summit.

The clouds in the picture above rolled in quickly while I was at the summit. I was about half way back down the mountains when the sky broke into a heavy warm tropical thunderstorm.

My new boots became running shoes as I ran the last half of the track in the pouring rain.

The new wide-brimmed geeky rain hat was absolutely perfect and well worth every cent, good decision Tania.

So, maybe tomorrow I wont walk up a mountain... a rest day perhaps?
