Saving money shopping second hand, and don't drive over the ladder!

Loads of handy shops near the location I am staying, including a cash converters, Repco, Kathmandu and several 4wdr outfitters.... and some great buys from facebook market place.

Best buys of the day were a swag and second hand toilet... I know, a second hand toilet (really I hear you say). but it was in pristine condition and I saved $150!.

I spent $309, and saved $540.. sweet!! and got to meet some great locals in the process.

The swag is pretty big and will probably be stored on the roof when on the road. The camp chair is also huge and will be stowed on the roof, but will be oh so sweet to recline in beside all the wonderful beaches I will visit.

This epic find at cash converters is proving incredibly handy.

I also spent some money at Kathmandu (sale) on a very light weight compact 1 person tent which I will use for cycle camping/tramping, along with a light weight camping mattress.

First task of today was to remove the roof rack.

This also involved removing the rear access ladder, which then necessitated relocating the rear number plate and light as these had been mounted on the ladder.

Thankfully they were easy to relocate and the light actually works even :)

Note to self... when you take a ladder off the roof and leave it behind the vehicle, DON'T THEN BACK OVER THE LADDER, like I did this morning... !!!... yes it is a little bit bent (the ladder, not me).

I managed to get this done before 7.30am ish as by then it was already way too hot to be outside, and certainly not in the sun.

That is correct, it is now 40 degrees outside, and this thermometer is not even in the sun !
