Tropical rain forests thrive on tropical rain...

Two days/nights in the rainforest in the Goomburra Section of the Main Range National Park was time well spent. In fact it would be very easy to spend 3-4 days there exploring all the trails.

I really enjoyed being on the inland side of the mountain range, enjoyed the magnificent rainforest, the stunning views and the more remote sense of the whole area.

I enjoyed attempting to capture photos of the wonderful birdlife, but was more successful with the stationary wildlife.

I now have a gallery pages dedicated to fauna & flora and will continue to update them with new images as I continue my journey,

The walk along the track to Sylvester's lookout meanders through magnificent undamaged tropical rainforest teaming with life.

The view from the lookout is equally spectacular.

Although, that is only as long as the clouds are lower than you, the pic to the right shows the same 'view' early the following morning.

I enjoyed the location so much I camped up high in the forest the night.

After the early morning cloud lifted I had time for some domesticity, before the afternoon thunderstorm came rolling through.

Mann Gum Campground was a large well established camping ground I enjoyed staying in.

It was a treat to be at a bush-camping site with running tap/rain water & given the recent rain I did not feel at all guilty using numerous buckets of water to wash my dirty laundry.
